Online School For Girls - Courses for Summer 2012 and the 2012-2013 School Year

Lauralton Hall is excited to announce that we are now affiliated with the Online School for Girls, joining a group of more than thirty girls’ schools from across the country in this innovative educational opportunity. Last year girls from 13 states, Australia, England and Asia took high-quality online courses offered through the Online School for Girls. We want to make you aware of the courses available for next year, as juniors and seniors will have the opportunity to enroll in these classes in the 2012-2013 school year.

Online education is the fastest growing segment of education today. More than one million high school students and more than four million college students took an online course last year.  We know that these numbers will only grow in the future as more and more schools and professions look to online education and training. Considering the current numbers and additional research, it is a fair to make the assumption that all of our current students will at some point take a class online so we are delighted to be able to offer this opportunity to our girls.

We know that online education is particularly well suited to girls who are independent, motivated, and mature. Taking an online course requires the ability to manage time well and to stay on top of tasks. In addition, we hope that girls interested in taking courses will also be excited about the possibility of trying something new and meeting girls from around the world. The Online School for Girls offers a variety of courses that will engage and challenge your daughter.

Juniors and seniors may submit a proposal in the spring of 2012 to the Academic Dean for enrollment in an online elective course as part of the six (6) credits per year requirement. Courses from the Online School for Girls will become part of a student’s transcript but will not be included in GPA calculations. Tuition for these courses is not covered by Lauralton Hall. Since we are an affiliate school, our students do receive tuition discounts. Discounted tuition is $675 for a semester and $1345.50 for a full year.
